DECRYPTION – Five days before the Evian summit, business representatives from the seven countries publish a joint declaration. They warn of global economic challenges.
Five days before the start of the summit of G7 heads of state, next Monday in Évian, under the presidency of Emmanuel Macron, the representatives of employers from the seven countries are making their voice heard, united, on the threats surrounding the world economy.
While the G7 summits were launched by Valéry Giscard d’Estaing in 1975, their employer “mirror” was created in 2007. According to Patrick Martin, who received Wednesday June 10 under the gold of the Quai d’Orsay six counterparts and the president of Business Europe, Fredrik Persson, never before has the B7 provided such in-depth work. The 27-page joint declaration is rich in numerous recommendations which were to be transmitted in the evening to Emmanuel Macron. “We are convinced that economic diplomacy (…) can contribute to the resolution of tensions“on challenges such as climate, artificial intelligence or demography, pleads the boss of French bosses.
