This could be expected: after a season where the Remparts de Tours shone much more in attack than in defense, this sector is set to change quite a bit in view of the following year. Several departures will thus take place. We already know that the American Mark Shroyer is retiring as a player. And it continues this Wednesday with the Swedes Marcus Björk and Albin Torstensson, who are not extended. Rather strong defensively, they did not, however, have the expected offensive contribution, not succeeding enough in creating a link in the construction of the game, between the defense and the attack. Both players will have had just one season in Touraine (Albin Torstensson returns to Meudon, in D1).
On the other hand, Stéphane Gros maintains his confidence in Christophe Tiramani. The 25-year-old from Ile-de-France, who already visited Tours in 2023-2024, has had an up and down year. “He had a very complicated start to the season in my opinion, we didn’t find the Tiramani of two years ago. But it was better afterwards and in the play-offs.” notes the coach.
With his imposing physique (1.91 m), Tiramani has good potential, which still needs to be developed. At 25 years old, “He knows, these are important years ahead, to take a step forward and become a dominant player.”says Stéphane Gros, who therefore expects more consistency from him.
