Around midday, a fire started in the town of Saint-Etienne du Grès, in Bouches-du-Rhône, on the border with Gard. 47 firefighters are currently mobilized. One hectare has already been covered.
The firefighters13 were called at precisely 12:10 p.m. for a fire starting, Chemin du Mas des Cabannes, in Saint-Etienne-du-Grès. The fire started on a wheat crop.
So far, one hectare has already been covered by fire. Forty-seven firefighters from Bouches-du-Rhône are currently mobilized. For the moment, firefighters from neighboring Gard are not providing reinforcement.

This fire occurs while the department has been placed on orange alert since Wednesday June 10 for the fire risk of forest fires, such as Var and Vaucluse, according to the latest bulletin from Météo France and its Météo des fêts. These are five departments, with Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales, classified with a high risk of forest fires for this Thursday, June 11.
An alert which comes a few days before a significant rise in temperatures. From this weekend, the thermometer should exceed 30 degrees in the department: “Temperatures are expected to rise more sharply this weekend and will exceed the 30 degree mark. Summer will really set in from June 15. It will be around 30 degrees on the coast and 35 degrees inland”tells France 3 Provence-Alpes Paul Marquis, weather expert for the 13 firefighters and meteorologist.
