“Une réponse décisive et immédiate”. This is the threat launched by Tehran. As the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and the British destroyer HMS Dragon head towards the Strait of Hormuz, Iran warns against any action deemed hostile in this waterway: “Only the Islamic Republic of Iran can ensure security in this strait. It will not allow any country to interfere in this area”the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister wrote on X.

Unequivocal response less than an hour later from Emmanuel Macron: “We have never considered, I invite you to review all my declarations since day one, to make a deployment to reopen. That has never been France’s option. So I don’t know who orders what, but what we order is not what France offers.” The head of state recalls that it would be a concerted mission with around fifty partners to allow the resumption of traffic once the war is over.

But according to the Israeli Prime Minister, this conflict is not yet over: “I think we have accomplished a lot, but it is not over, because there are still nuclear materials, enriched uranium, that need to be removed from Iran.”

Tehran responded this Sunday, May 10, to the American proposal aimed at putting an end to the conflict. On his social network, Donald Trump criticized the counter-offer proposed by the Iranians and described it as “totally unacceptable”.
