The Vietnam Diplomatic Academy organizes an update program on international issues and Vietnam’s foreign policy for senior executives.

The program, organized by the Department of Training and Development of Foreign Affairs Civil Servants of the Diplomatic Academy, within the framework of the project “Training of civil servants and civil servants working in foreign affairs and international integration so that they are competent to work in the international environment of the new “era during the period 2026-2031”, aims to update the knowledge and practical skills in foreign affairs of members of Party committees of centrally administered provinces and cities.

On the morning of June 10, Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, deputy permanent secretary of the Party Committee and vice minister of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated the program. The day before, on June 9, the trainees participated in the ASEAN Future Forum 2026 as official delegates and took part in many important side activities.

As part of this program, leaders were informed through three thematic sessions: “New reflections of the 14th Party Congress and Resolution 59 and strategic implications for local communities”, “Promote the pioneering role of cultural diplomacy in promoting the image and building local titles in the service of rapid and sustainable socio-economic development “, et “Updates on the global situation and its impact on local development†.

During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always regards local governments as one of the most important entities in implementing affairs. foreigners and actively supports them in the development of foreign relations and international integration, the promotion of investments, trade, tourism, science and technology, etc.

This is not just a continuing education program, but a major annual activity organized by the Foreign Affairs Officials Training and Development Council of the Vietnam Diplomatic Academy. This program provides practical experience of diplomatic work to senior officials who are members of provincial and municipal Party committees, and helps to strengthen their awareness, strategic thinking and leadership and management skills in the context of profound global, regional and national upheavals.
