Coros makes a strong impact this month. After integrating ChatGPT and a special edition, the manufacturer is rolling out a major update for its sports watches. The update includes the unexpected arrival of voice control, optimized weight training tracking, and new tools for running.

Apparently, Coros is making multiple announcements this May. After opening its MCP to connect with ChatGPT or Claude and unveiling a golden edition of the Pace 4, the manufacturer is revealing a major update for its sports watches this Friday.

Coros watches can now be controlled by voice

It was somewhat expected considering the brand’s communication on its latest models. It is now confirmed that the latest Coros watches will be able to enjoy voice control. Specifically, the three newest watches from the manufacturer, the Coros Pace 4, the Coros Apex 4, and the Coros Nomad (the only ones to integrate a microphone) can be partly controlled by voice by long-pressing the action button on the lower left of the case.

This function allows users to start an activity, set reminders, start countdowns, or change lanes during a track activity. For now, Coros only announces support for English for voice control, with French language support to follow later, without further details.

The May 2026 Coros update also revises the design of the control center, namely the round of tools accessible by long-pressing the lower right button.

New features for running or weight training

Among the other new features are a new management of automatic laps for running. In addition to automatic laps by distance (default, every kilometer), users can now set automatic laps by position. This means the watch will count a new lap each time you return to your starting point, a useful measure for loop races, backyard formats, or hill workouts.

Coros also offers new distance alerts, different from end-of-lap alerts. These alerts will not end a lap in the workout but will indicate, after surpassing the defined distance, pace, time, or heart rate.

Other new features include more customization for post-workout images to share on social networks. The update also includes an improvement in weight training tracking with the ability to change the number of repetitions once the set is done, on the watch or from the mobile app. Finally, the update takes into account treadmill runs in the evaluation of running level, structured workouts for cross-country skiing and hybrid fitness, as well as a new “GPS Endurance” mode on the Coros Nomad to increase autonomy to 56 hours of tracking, even if it sacrifices some precision slightly.

These new features of Coros watches are available for download starting today and should be offered by update to all users in the coming days.
