The 2026 FIM Hertz Trial World Championship will begin on the weekend of May 15-17 with the TrialGP of Japan. While global sporting attention will naturally focus on the points-scoring exploits of the sport’s best drivers, behind the scenes a dedicated team will be focused on implementing the tailor-made environmental management plan for the event at Mobility Resort Motegi.

Chosen to lead the Asian launch ofprogramme KiSS (Keep it Shiny and Sustainable) de la FIMIn 2023, TrialGP Japan is at the forefront of this groundbreaking initiative that encourages organizers to develop sustainable events bysupervising and amplifying existing environmental actionsand integrating other innovative activities.

Organizational teachingimpeccable facilities belonging to Honda, a major event on the calendarAlmost every year since 2000, the event has built an enviable reputation for its continued support of biodiversity while emphasizing the importance of the sustainability message. For 2026, this commitment will be further strengthened.

Withmore than seven thousand five hundred fans expectedOver the two days of competition, the six hundred and forty hectare site will take on the size of a small town over the weekend, requiring appropriate infrastructure to cope with the influx of spectators.

Naturally, at the center of environmental activities is theengagement à réduire les émissions de CO2the TrialGP of Japan being organized as a carbon neutral event. Thanks to massive investments in wind, solar and hydro power, virtually one hundred percent of the electricity used for events at Mobility Resort Motegi is “green” and renewable.

The Japan TrialGP traditionally attracts large numbers of spectators, and this popularity means that waste is also a significant issue. However, the organizers are ready, withnumerous selective sorting bins locatedthroughout the enclosure, as well ason-site disposal and recycling facilities complementing the policy of reducing the use of disposable plastics. The pit and paddock areas will also benefit from dedicated oil disposal areas.

In addition, thesite has its own water treatment plant which reprocesses wastewater for reuse in toilets and for firefighting.
 Sixty-five percent of the venue is forested areas with much of the competition taking place in the picturesque surroundings ofHello Woodsthe preservation of this beautiful natural environment is at the heart of the activities.Ministry of the Environment of Japan has also recognized the efforts of Mobility Resort Motegi to promote coexistence between humans, nature and mobility by certifying it  30by30 Nature Coexistence Site ».
High-level recognition also came from thereTochigi prefecture who certified the site for its experiential learning opportunities, while the Mobility Resort Motegi bénéficie également d’global partnership agreements with the cities ofÂI movedand aboutDo. Those responsible for environmental management of the circuit also followed aformation of the FIM Sustainability Commission.

Many of this year’s advanced sustainability initiatives are community collaborations and include the “ Motegi Festa 2026 » and la « Motegi Residents Thank You Day » via the partnership agreement with the city. Acollaboration with students from the higher technical school of MokaNearby is also planned, and local youth groups will be given a role in the event’s ceremonies.

Under the supervision of the national champion Tomoyuki Ogawapolice officers from Tochigi, Gunma and Ibaraki prefectures will receive atraining to improve their motorcycle riding skills in emergency situations. The ongoing work to open up the sport to the next generation will be complemented by the new attraction  Laughing Bike » which allows younger visitors tolearn the basics of driving electric machines.

Alongside the established tree planting initiative for pilots, a newHello Woods guided tour program has also been introduced to promote education on biodiversity and environmental conservation in Trial competitions.
