The United States today seems to be trapped in the trap deliberately constructed by American President Donald Trump, whose foreign policy resembles a blind man’s cane, as it is true that we still do not know what kind of quagmire it can get itself into.
Mired in the Iranian crisis, Uncle Sam’s country is advancing like an amblyopic giant on a minefield, incapable of drawing up a coherent strategy, even less of finding a way out that will allow it to emerge with its head held high.
Neither war, nor agreement…: the American status quo prevailing since the start of the fragile truce between Tehran and the American-Zionist coalition, resembles a prolonged impasse, where each gesture is dictated neither by prudence nor by national interest, but by the need to satisfy an ally whose warlike choices dictate American policy.
We will certainly have guessed it, it is Israel. Fervently opposed to any compromise with Iran, the Jewish state has in fact become, with its maximalist demands and its genocidal practices, the true conductor of American foreign policy in the Middle East.
Washington threatens, sanctions, deploys its forces, but always with an eye on Tel Aviv. Any desire for negotiation is immediately curbed by the Zionist Prime Minister Netanyahu and the extremist clique of his government whose demands sound like an order that the American administration must apply without flinching, even if it ultimately leads to nothing.
Every gesture from the White House obeys the need to reassure the Israeli protégé who constantly calls for confrontation and aggression. In the long run, America thus found itself hostage to a bellicose and embarrassing ally, more determined to impose its own apocalyptic vision than to secure the region that it seeks by all means to put under its thumb.
It must be said that for years, Washington has been playing with fire in the Middle East, alternating between stifling sanctions and spectacular displays of force. All against the backdrop of an iniquitous foreign policy which has generated appalling suffering among civilian populations in the occupied territories, in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, among others.
This particularly aggressive policy, carried out vigorously for a long decade, has only plunged the entire region into the throes of chaos and permanent instability.
The current crisis marked by yet another sordid latent war which has led in particular to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is, ultimately, only the logical consequence of this hazardous and extremely dangerous policy favored by the United States which accumulates errors and costs, military and diplomatic. Errors which not only harm American interests but also and above all the rest of the world.
When America gets drunk and starts endless wars, it’s the whole planet, paradoxically, that wakes up in the morning with a terrible hangover.
The surge in oil prices on the international market, with all the fortunes and misfortunes that follow for many economies in the world, have as their main origin the rash and risky decisions taken under the paneling of the White House and the watchful eye of the war-mongers of the American administration.
Between arrogance, poor anticipation and obsession with international image, Washington is sinking into a Middle Eastern quagmire that it no longer controls. The illusion of power is crumbling… Uncle Sam’s country, which claims to impose order, finds itself a helpless spectator of a crisis that it no longer knows how to resolve.
Ultimately, America’s entanglement in the Iranian crisis is much more than a simple strategic failure: it is proof that a world power can become hostage to the choices of a dangerous ally with dubious intentions, incapable of charting its own course and condemned to navigate uncertainty. No war, no agreement, just a paralysis that costs everyone dearly – except perhaps those who pull the strings behind the scenes.
In this gloomy climate marked by expectation and uncertainty, the United States’ allies in the region are watching, skeptical and worried, the development of the situation at a time when Iran observes, imperturbably, and maneuvers with the assurance of one who knows that the adversary is trapped by its own contradictions.
The Iranian leaders, fine maneuverers experienced in the vagaries and vicissitudes of harsh trials, know, in fact, that America has entered a labyrinth from which it does not know the way out, accumulating errors upon errors and giving the impression of a drifting ship which has lost its way in the middle of a squall…
