It will be possible to follow the French team’s matches on a giant screen in the cinema. The French Football Federation has established a partnership with various establishments linked to UGC and CGR, in agreement with M6.
It was still only a wish expressed on the airwaves at the end of May, it will be a reality: the matches of the French team at the 2026 World Cup (from June 11 to July 19) will be broadcast on the big screen by the French Football Federation (FFF). The latter announced, via a press release released this Tuesday, the launch of the system called Cinéfoot: 90 UGC and CGR cinemas, in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Caen, will broadcast the Blues matches during the group phase.
“With Cinéfoot, the French Football Federation is very pleased to invite the football community to experience the matches of the French team in a unique way during the World Cupâ€declared Philippe Diallo, president of the 3F to make the news official. “This initiative, free and original, will indeed allow us to share the passion for the World Cup collectively, across the entire territoryâ€welcomes the leader.
This project, set up in partnership with M6 which broadcasts 54 unencrypted matches, including all those of the Blues, had been tested for the friendly matches in March, against Brazil and Colombia, and had largely appealed to those who had been tempted. The FFF promises “a collective experience in premium projection conditions” : giant screen, immersive cinema sound, in-room entertainment and exclusive content.
Accès limité
This project will however not be open to everyone. Access to these screenings will be by invitation. These will be distributed as a priority to amateur football players, volunteers, educators, managers, referees, young licensees, as well as to partners and members of the French team ecosystem.
The cinemas concernés:
- 6 movies UGC :Â UGC Bercy (Paris), UGC Villeneuve d’Ascq (Lille), UGC Strasbourg, UGC Lyon Part-Dieu, UGC Mondeville (Caen), UGC Atlantis (Nantes)
- 3 cinémas CGR : CGR Bordeaux Le Français, CGR Blagnac (Toulouse), CGR Vitrolles (Marseille)
The Blues calendar
