The weather could get bad during the day

This Friday, May 8, 2026 begins under the sun, but it will undoubtedly get worse in the afternoon… The sky will become cloudy, with a risk of showers and even thunderstorms. Despite the chilly temperatures this morning (6°C), the thermometer will gradually rise to reach 17°C during the day. The sun rose at 6:42 a.m. and will set at 9:42 p.m. The sea will be low at 4:56 p.m. and high at 10:36 a.m. and 11:01 p.m. (coefficients 44 and 40).

We wish the Désirés a happy birthday. It is also the birthday of Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias (51 years old) and TV presenter Laurence Boccolini (63 years old). This May 8 is also the date of the German capitulation during the Second World War in 1945, synonymous with victory for France and its allies, and the World Day of the Red Cross – its founder, Henry Dunant, was born on May 8, 1828 and created this movement in 1864.

A whirlwind in the sky of Plouezoc’h

While walking in Plouezoc’h on Thursday morning, Gilbert Brenaut noticed an astonishing weather phenomenon in the sky: the formation of a small whirlwind in the middle of the clouds. After a few moments, it dissipated. He sent us his photo.

In Plougasnou, these disused fishponds come back to life thanks to cinema

This is the magic of cinema! For the filming of the film “Why Not Us?” “, the old fishponds of the port of Diben are coming back to life even though they have been disused for several years. Actors and extras revived this stunningly realistic setting, as if the fishponds had never stopped working.

The number of the day: 300

This is the number of humanitarian projects inaugurated by Michel Jestin in Benin. Based in Saint-Martin-des-Champs, the former president of Stade Brestois 29 founded the MJ association for childhood which works to improve living conditions in the rural areas of this West African country with schools, wells, orphanages…

At 16 years old, this cyclist is already performing among the seniors

For her first season among seniors, cyclist Eloane Lebreton surprises and performs! By launching into the big leagues, she simply wanted to have fun and “accumulate experience”. The native of Plouzévéd© is finally ahead of her own ambitions and has played the leading roles in certain races.
