Recently arrived at the head of the Morocco selection after the resignation of Walid Regragui, Mohamed Ouahbi, former coach of the under-20s and world champion with this generation, explained that he had to decide from a very large pool, after a single internship last March. Alongside Achraf Akimi, we find executives: Yassine Bounou in goals, Sofyan Amrabat in the middle. In attack, Ayoub El Kaabi and Brahim Diaz, author of the missed panenka in the CAN final. The Moroccan selection also makes room for youth, with a first call-up for midfielder Samir El Mourabet. Morocco will begin its World Cup on June 14 against Brazil, in the clash of Group C, which also includes Scotland and Haiti.

Despite this competition, the Atlas Lions are in good shape, as evidenced by their victory in a friendly match on Tuesday (26.05) against Burundi: 5-0. Eighth nation in the world in the FIFA rankings, Morocco will first aim for first place in the group before hoping to create the feat again.
