The Pluguffan association international basketball tournament (Tibap) celebrated joy as much as the game this weekend of May 23 and 24. The supporters of the Martinican team made the stands vibrate, setting the rhythm with the bélé drums, thus enlivening the sports complex like never before. The crushing heat slowed down the crowds, but it did not dampen the atmosphere. “It feels a bit like Rio, during the carnival,” said a delighted spectator.
On the floor, the show kept its promises. Behind the scenes, the volunteers provided an impeccable welcome for the teams coming from far away while the Penhars sports hall, in Quimper, gave complete satisfaction on Sunday morning. In the U13 final, Poland faced Seine-et-Marne and won the title 43-21, before dancing to the rhythm of the drums. In U15, the Finistère selection, coached by Pluguffanais Guéna Coris, delivered an incandescent match and lost 37 – 38 against the Martinicans after three minutes of added time.
