It was a bet by the organization. By placing the date of the first women’s Foussard the day after the individual event of the World Cup in Saint-Maur (Val-de-Marne), the leopards of the Norman club hoped to attract some international big names to their competition. Their strategy is clearly rewarded since two Danish internationals and an Austrian international will be there this Sunday, May 24, 2026 in Lisieux (Calvados).
The Danish number 1 is there
“We were able to count on the help of our Norman internationals like Camille Hermay to disseminate our competition to foreign epee fencers,” underlines Emmanuel Hartvick, president of the club. Thus, the Danish number 1 in the FIE ranking, Sarah Schremmer Larsen will be there. At 27 years old, she is used to World Cups: 23 selections in 4 seasons and several Top 16 in satellite World Cups. She will be accompanied by a compatriot, Josephine Barfod Damgaard, aged 24 and who has 10 World Cup selections.
An Austrian with great potential
The first women’s Foussard will also welcome an Austrian swordswoman, Gloria-Dahlia Legac. This young 22-year-old shooter already has 7 senior World Cup selections and is in good shape. She has just finished 2nd in the U23 European circuit in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 10 and won the senior event in Kamnik (Slovenia) on Sunday.
Among the other headliners is Elena Seille (Saint-Gratien, 15th French). The one who made her debut in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) already has a great track record at just 23 years old: vice-champion of the U20 European team (2023), U20 French champion and multiple medalist at the U20 world cups with the French team.
Caen in the square with Camille Hermay and Thaïs Naucelle-Jardel
The Norman, member of the ENE (Épée Normandie Excellence), Camille Hermay (18th French), 2024 European club champion with Beauvais (Oise) and winner this season of the Conquérantes in Caen will also be a contender for the final victory just like the Caennaise Thaïs Naucelle-Jardel (Team ENE, 28th French), silver medalist European circuit U23 (2025), French university champion (2024), winner of the Burgos U20 World Cup (2023)… and recent third in the senior national event of Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne) at the end of April.
Lexovians in the game
As for the Lexoviennes, Ninon Hartvick, author of a good 10th place in the U20 championship in Soissons a few weeks ago, could play spoilsport in front of her audience. Marion Dagorne, a true foil specialist, also knows how to handle epee. For her return to competition this season, she notably finished second in the regional challenge of Touques, won the regional challenge of Vire and took a good third place in the Conquerantes contested in the corridors of the Abbaye aux Dames in Caen.
Camille Doyhamboure, who returned to competition about a month ago after long weeks of absence, will return to a room in which she had shone two years previously by climbing to the third step of the podium for the Conquériantes, beaten by a touch (15-14) in the semi-final. Ten days later, in Castelnau-Le-Lez (Hérault), the Lexovienne took 4th place in the French N3 senior team championship. This year, Camille Doyhamboure distinguished herself in several regional events, notably winning the Les Ducs d’Alençon tournament (Orne).
Sunday May 24, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. in the Multi-activities room in Lisieux. Start of the final phases at 11:50 a.m., semi-finals at 3:10 p.m., final at 4 p.m., podium at 4:30 p.m.
