In his imperialist gluttony, Donald Trump hopes to show off the scalp of Cuba, after having brought Venezuela to heel, or so he believes, with the kidnapping and sequestration of its president, Nicolas Maduro. Not a week goes by without Washington announcing new measures of retaliation which reinforces an unjust and inhumane blockade, devastating for the Cuban economy but above all the population.

The life of the inhabitants is a perpetual system D which is running out of steam but which is holding on. This resistance is an insult in the eyes of the White House, which is doubling down on illegal sanctions.

The fate reserved for Cuba should alert the chancelleries. US policy violates all diplomatic principles that govern international relations. According to the proto-fascist administration, Havana, which has never declared war on anyone, would threaten the security of the United States with an armada of drones ready to descend on the torture enclave that is the United States prison at Guantanamo.

The accusation is laughable, but should be taken very seriously. Just like the legal ploy which would consist of indicting Raul Castro. There is no need to say that the facts alleged against the former Cuban president relate to the defense of the territorial integrity of Cuba in the face of yet another charade from Washington.

It adds to the long list of what the homeland of José Marti has suffered since the advent of the revolution in 1959: boat explosion La Coubreinvasion of the Bay of Pigs, bacteriological attacks, attacks against civil aviation and tourist infrastructure. Not to mention the hundreds of assassination attempts against Fidel Castro.

It would take a wealth of intelligence to make Donald Trump understand that Cuba is not just an island “Magnificent landscapes” who would be “Ã prendre”. That the independence and sovereignty dearly won by its people are not for sale.

President Diaz-Canel, who has not vetoed discussion channels, including with the CIA, warned of a possible “ bain de sang » if the United States dared to intervene militarily. The great powers cannot remain idle in the face of repeated aggressions which trample international legality. By bending their backs, they endorse Washington.

Alongside those who fight!

The social emergency is the priority every day for l’Humanité.

  • By exposing employer violence.
  • By showing what those who work and those who aspire to do experience.
  • By giving keys to understanding and tools to employees to defend themselves against ultraliberal policies that degrade their quality of life.

Do you know of other media that do this…?
