After his second place finish at Liège-Bastogne-Liège behind the untouchable Tadej Pogacar, Paul Seixas has climbed up the UCI world ranking.

Paul Seixas continues his meteoric rise. Staggering second at Liège-Bastogne-Liège behind the untouchable Tadej Pogacar on Sunday, the 19-year-old Frenchman enters the top 10 of the UCI ranking for the first time, updated this Tuesday. The great French hope, author of a breathtaking April (victory at the Tour of the Basque Country and the Flèche Wallonne), has gained fifteen positions and now stands at 7th place worldwide (with 3,520.33 points).

Ahead of him, we find Mads Pedersen, Tom Pidcock, Remco Evenepoel, Isaac Del Toro, Jonas Vingegaard, and Tadej Pogacar. Alone at the top (10,810 pts), the Slovenian has nearly 4,000 points ahead of his closest Danish pursuer (6,885.14 pts).

Paul Seixas, whose participation (or absence) in the next Tour de France might be announced this week, is the first Frenchman in the ranking. 7th at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Romain Grégoire climbs to 16th place, Kévin Vauquelin is 24th, and Paul Magnier is 28th. In the women’s category, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot ranks 14th in a ranking still dominated by the Dutch Demi Vollering.
