They occur in a context of intensification of long-range attacks and lack of progress in the negotiation process to end the conflict.

On the night of Sunday May 31 to Monday June 1, a Russian drone strike carried out on a village in the Kherson region, in eastern Ukraine, left at least one dead, while an artillery strike on a residential building left at least three injured, according to local authorities. They announce that the victim is a 62-year-old man.
In total, these Russian night strikes left at least 26 people injured across Ukraine. Among them, eight people, including three children, were affected in the Cherniguiv region (in the north of the country), while 10,000 people were deprived of electricity afterwards, according to the emergency services and the regional electricity supplier.
Local authorities also reported seven injured in the port city of Odessa (in southern Ukraine), four in the Dnipropetrovsk region (in the east of the country), four in Kharkiv (in the northeast) and another in Zaporizhia (in the south).
Russia targeted the neighboring country with 265 drones overnight, of which 228 were intercepted, the Ukrainian Air Force detailed. Moscow, which bombs Ukraine almost every night, has intensified its attacks during the day in recent months, leading to a response from kyiv, which for its part has intensified its long-distance strikes against Russia, mainly targeting energy infrastructure.
Negotiations to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which left hundreds of thousands dead and millions of refugees in more than four years of war, are still at a standstill.
