“No one is hurt.” Donald Trump was reassuring on Tuesday about the fate of two pilots of an Apache combat helicopter, victims of a crash the day before near the Strait of Hormuz according to information from the New York Times.

“The pilots are fine, yes,” commented the American president, questioned by journalists after attending an NBA final match in New York. And added: “We will publish a report on this subject tomorrow”, without further details.

Unknown cause

The causes of the crash are not immediately known, said the American daily, citing two informed sources. “It was not immediately known whether the Apache had been shot down by Iranian fire, had suffered a mechanical breakdown or had encountered another problem,” explains one of their anonymous sources.

This incident comes as Donald Trump assured that American diplomacy was in the “last efforts” with a view to concluding an agreement with Iran to end the conflict in the Gulf. “We are in the final stages of what is going to be a very, very good agreement,” he said, referring to a deadline of “two to three days” for such an agreement to be concluded.
