The price of gasoline in France was at its highest on Sunday since the start of the war in the Middle East with an increase of 19% for SP95-E10 and 17% for SP98.
An unprecedented outbreak. On Sunday, prices at the pump reached their highest level since the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East, according to data reported by some 7,000 stations to a government site.
We note an increase of almost 19% for SP95-E10, more than 17% for SP98, or respectively 33 and 31 cents more per liter than on February 27, the day before the first Israeli-American strikes on Iran.
As for diesel, the most consumed fuel in France, it remains at high levels, at 2.145 euros per liter, even if it has fallen slightly since its peak at the beginning of April, at 2.387 euros.
New aid in June
Faced with these record levels, Sébastien Lecornu will present Thursday during a press conference devoted to the impact of the war in the Middle East a “new package” of aid for the month of June intended for the sectors most affected by the rise in fuel prices.
The government must also soon provide details of the 6 billion euros in savings announced in April to deal with the crisis in the Middle East.
