Gathered under the presidency of Christine Bertin, the members organized the next events around the mill from summer to fall.
For Saturday June 20, the Roquoise association, which has many ideas, is offering you a Spanish inn evening, but with music!
The objective of the office is to create the dream “playlist” of the Roquoises and of course of all the associates of the surrounding villages! The principle is simple: – we offer you an aperitif, from 6 p.m. You come with your culinary specialty of your choice to share, we will offer you (for sale) the local wine that goes with it.
Together, we will listen to all the “hits” that each person has chosen. No registration required, but we’re counting on you to give us your two titles before Saturday June 20, here on forms.gle/XTXNYZsrqwaMg4n97.
For music, there are no other rules than the desire to share with everyone! Choose two songs or music that make you think of our village Roques.
Which go naturally with your dish, or which you simply love. In short, we are counting on your eclecticism to delight our ears and make great discoveries! See you soon!
The summer and fall season being prepared at the mill
In order to prepare for the summer and fall season, the friends of the mill met in the village hall, under the chairmanship of Christine Bertin, to settle all the details of the events planned for this summer and fall.
A producers’ market, and an attic clearance, will be organized on Sundays, June 14, July 12, and August 9. For these occasions, the mill will be adorned with four sails or eight sails depending on the intensity of the wind. Guided tours will be organized from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The effect of a mill in operation, with the noise linked to the wooden gear and that of the rotating wings, is indeed very impressive.
To see and to eat!
For the occasion, the wood-fired oven will be lit from Friday evening, in order to be able to make several batches of bread and pizza, because now the volunteers, always supervised by professionals from the association, have mastered the culture of sourdough and the making of bread with organic flour, from the mill. This bread and pizzas will be offered for sale, and can also be used for those who wish to eat on site with products offered by certain producers.
Art and heritage
Saturday September 5a well-established operation now, will bring together amateur painters from the region, who take the mill as a model, seen from different angles. A weaving workshop with plants will also be organized this year.
September 26as part of the heritage days, a bread festival will be hosted by James Forest, who knows not only baking practice, but also everything related to bread, through ages and countries.
Finally, the season will end November 7th by the annual general meeting, followed by a cabaret evening. After that, the association will go into hibernation until the following spring.
