In this affair which continues to shake the world of entertainment, Flavie Flament has chosen to no longer remain in the shadows. While the accusations against Patrick Bruel have been increasing for several months, the host has decided to speak publicly about the reasons which pushed her to reveal her identity after having initially testified anonymously.

According to her, a specific event caused something to click. While the singer continued his professional activities and continued to perform on stage, the images of spectators cheering him after a performance had a deep impact on him. This public reaction gave him the feeling that the testimonies of the women concerned risked being quickly forgotten. In an interview given to Elleshe explains:
“Ça m’a révoltée. I took this as a sign of total impunity. A blanket of silence would fall over the words of women. I decided to give the door a big knock.”

Flavie Flament returns to her complaint against Patrick Bruel

Since she spoke, Flavie Flament has known that her testimony has provoked numerous reactions, sometimes very critical. However, far from attacking Patrick Bruel’s admirers who continue to give him their support, she claims to understand their position. In his eyes, it is not easy to question the image of a personality appreciated for several decades. “I am trying to understand this blindness in the face of thirty testimonies from women, and more”,
she confides.

However, she adds that she understands the difficulty of seeing a figure who accompanied part of their life fall.
“Unbolting your idol can be very painful,”
she admits. For the former television presenter, this affair now goes beyond her own case. She believes she is using her notoriety to allow other victims to find the courage to speak out.

“Such vulgarity, such offense, such insult”

Aware of the attacks to which she was exposed, she assures that she was not surprised by certain reactions. “The discrediting of the victims’ words, I know what it is, I expected it”she explains. What hurt her more, however, were certain positions calling into question her story. “The implication that I would have had a relationship with a man who raped me when I was 16, when I consented to the tragedy that I suffered… I did not imagine that we would resort to such vulgarity, such an offense, such an insult”she declares.

Words which testify to the violence she says she felt in the face of certain criticism. Despite this media ordeal, Flavie Flament ensures that she remains determined. She claims to have chosen not to respond to all the attacks and now prefers to let justice take its course. “I let it pass, it’s a demonstration in the eyes of the world of what we can do to muzzle a victim,” she believes.
