From June 27 and 28, the region will be enriched with a new festival dedicated to current music. Called “Cigale Sound”, this festival, organized on the Cavaillon racecourse, will welcome around twenty artists in musical genres as varied as electro, house, R&B, afro-house, hip hop… This event, which aims to be annual, will offer also living spaces to relax, play and eat.
It’s almost a beautiful story. Alexandre Millet, a child of Cavaillon, “professionally exiled” in the Gard, organizer of events and in particular of concerts, came up with the idea of offering the city that saw him grow up a musical event that it lacked. Through Philippine Chevalier, his partner in the organization of the event, they meet the mayor of Cavaillon, Gérard Daudet, at the end of 2025. Our two young entrepreneurs offer him a simple deal: you provide the racecourse and some technical resources, we take care of everything else, and in particular the financial risk. Banco responds to the mayor. Then it took a little over three months to organize everything and bring together a set with 22 artists. “Our connections with the artists made things a lot easier,” explains Alexandre Millet. “And we haven’t had any refusals,” adds Philippine Chevalier. It is important to specify that alongside the headliners several local artists will perform at “Cigale Sound”. It was then necessary to find private partners whose support is essential to setting up such a project. 10 responded now. Around sixty volunteers also joined the organization of the event.
The concerts will be offered on Saturday June 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Sunday 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., on two different stages. On Sunday morning a musical brunch will be offered from 11:00 a.m. with Afro House and hard techno. The organizers expect 8,000 visitors over the two days. Ticketing (from €25 for 1 day) is only possible online at https://www.lafrenchy.app/, no tickets will be sold on site. The MIN car park will be made available for the occasion.
