It’s not Cersei, Jon Snow or Daenerys who would say the opposite: Paris Saint-Germain’s victory against Arsenal in the Champions League final on Saturday May 30 was epic. To celebrate it “with dignity”, the club imagined a video which is unabashedly inspired by the cult theme song of Game of Thrones.
On its Instagram account on Monday June 1, the Parisian club published a long video in which we can see a warship bearing the PSG coat of arms moving on a raging sea from city to city and stadium to stadium, until a final stage in Budapest. The clip precisely reproduces the mechanics of the credits Game of Thrones : namely the cogs of a machinery which trigger the appearance of stadiums like the Parc des Princes, the Louis 2 stadium in Monaco, the Stamford Bridge Chelsea in London, the Ferenc-Puskás in Budapest (or the Eiffel Tower) and allow the boat to advance towards the final, and victory.
The clip obviously ends with fireworks and the appearance of the words “Champions back to back » (champions two years in a row, Editor’s note) and the motto of Paris «It floats and does not sink » which signifies «Âbeaten by the waves, but do not sink“. All using a font very similar to that of the HBO series.
This is not the first time that PSG has used the credits of Game of Thrones. In 2015, the club had already used a similar process to parody the end of the Ligue 1 season.
As for the clip posted on June 1, 2026, no mention of production studio is made in the publication, so we still do not know who directed it. In the comments, many claim that the clip was made by artificial intelligence in the wake of PSG’s victory against Arsenal on penalties on May 30.
