For more than twenty years, Pékin Express has evolved, but this season marked a real return to basics. Forbidden GPS, absence of translation tools, new game mechanics and new route: the candidates had to rely solely on their instinct, their endurance and their ability to adapt. An adventure more raw and intense than ever… until this grand finale.
Bangkok, grandiose setting for the final confrontation
It is in Bangkok that this last battle will be played out. Between golden temples, bustling markets, iconic canals and modern skyscrapers, the Thai capital offers a setting as fascinating as it is chaotic for this final race.
The candidates will cross several emblematic places in the city, in an electric atmosphere where every minute will count.
The dreaded “Time is Money” rule
This final will be based on a mechanic that has become cult in Pékin Express : the “Time is Money†.
The finalists will have to compete in three intermediate sprints in order to accumulate a maximum amount of money of up to 100,000 euros. But the pressure will be permanent: as soon as a team crosses the finish line, it will trigger a beacon causing its opponents to lose 10 euros per second.
In this race against time, every moment lost could be extremely costly.
Once the three sprints are completed, the prize pools of the two teams will be frozen. Then it’s time for the big final sprint: the winning pair will leave with their prize pool and the coveted title of champion of this 22nd season.
Spectacular missions to decide between the finalists
To hope to achieve victory, the candidates will also have to overcome several particularly trying challenges.
Among the highlights of this finale: a tasting of Thai specialties at the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market. Dishes appreciated locally… but which could quickly turn into a nightmare for the finalists.
Another spectacular sequence: a dizzying mission to the top of the MahaNakhon Tower, one of the most impressive skyscrapers in the country.
Finally, the teams will have to compete in challenges organized in the legendary Rangsit Boxing Stadium, in a charged atmosphere.
A merciless struggle to achieve victory
At this stage of the competition, the two teams will no longer give each other any gifts. After an adventure marked by physical challenges, strong human encounters and constant twists and turns, this finale promises a real war of nerves.
Between strategy, endurance and pressure management, everything could come down to the final seconds.
