Cristo Fernandez has just signed with the professional football club El Paso Locomotive FC, in the United States.
This news comes after a two-month trial by the actor with the players. It was the Texan club which announced the arrival of the actor in its ranks on social networks on Tuesday May 12. “The rumors were true, welcome to El Paso Cristo Fernandez“, it is indicated.
Cristo Fernández didn’t discover his passion for football thanks to his role in the series Ted Lassobut it is precisely this which notably allowed him to obtain that of Danny Rojas. Indeed, the Mexican actor played at a high level until the age of 15, as recalled NBC. An injury prematurely ended his football career, pushing him to turn to comedy.
In a video shared on his social networks, Cristo Fernandez returns to “his crazy dreams and his unshakeable faith“. He even quotes the series that made him famous around the world by evoking a line from the character played by Jason Sudeikis “When you believe in your dreams, life finds a way to make them come true ”.
The 35-year-old actor and sportsman joins the El Paso Locomotive FC club which plays in the USL Championship, one of the lower levels of the North American professional league. He could therefore soon face teams like San Antonio FC, Detroit City Football Club or even Phoenix Rising FC.
