Dordogne. A little drink of music at the distillery festival

At first, they just wanted to have a party to celebrate the first year of existence of the distillery that they had decided to create as a family, between brothers and sisters. It was in 2022. Four years later, Loïs and Nolwenn Gauthier signs for the third edition of the Distillerie de l’art festival One might have thought that the organizers approached the event like old hands ready to gently settle into a cruising rhythm.

It’s quite the opposite. “As all good things come to an end, this third edition will also be the last”announces the Distillerie de l’Ã’rt. On May 15 and 16, the family site will therefore host eight music groups – four per evening – for the last time, at least in this format. “It’s like a good series: there’s a moment when you have to know when to stop.”justifies Loïs Gauthier who would like to do at this festival what Dalida said in her song: die on stage, at the height of her glory. “We have reached the end. We leave in style. It was great but the idea was not to stay stuck and do the same festival again for 50 years. It’s good to say that we can propose and try something else.»Â

On the same basis as the previous edition, this third festival will take place over two days, at chemin Fonfroide, outside the Périgord farm where Loùs and Nolwenn have chosen to replace a still with the sheep breeding and growing of nuts and fruits practiced by their grandparents.

Concerts and theater

New this year: the musical event that is now the festival will be enhanced with an entire stage section, with the presence of the Conservatory of Montignac and the Vertige theater troupe which offers fixed and ambulatory street shows.

on the first evening, just to put everyone at ease, the festival will host – among others – the Mange Bal. Kanka will take over, around half past midnight, with dub sounds to decelerate gently towards the end of the evening.

The second evening, in the third part of the evening, Uzi Freyia takes power and installs his powerful hip-hop as much as his charisma on the Montignac stage. A regular at festivals (Rock en Seine, Eurosonic, Francofolies, Vieilles Charrues…), she is renowned for having a stage presence as committed as her flow is powerful. She will share the stage with the local group Nácar.
