Unveiled this week, the first images of the feature film directed by David Ayer show a transformed Brad Pitt, with a “buzz cut” (a very short cut, Editor’s note), a graying beard but above all tattoos on his neck and scars on his face. These new physical attributes, intended to make him more credible in the skin of a character traumatized by his experience in the army, delighted his fans from the start. Everyone even finds him particularly sexy as a battered and damaged former soldier, who is however not supposed to be charming or attractive.

The dog almost steals the show from Brad Pitt. “They have no interest in making him die”, “I won’t get over it if he doesn’t survive”, some of them are already worried. According to information from GQ, The German Shepherd, who performs impressive stunts, is played by a real New Zealand rescue dog named Uber. “Uber was on the set, he was working, he was listed on the duty sheet, he was a real actor. People took care of him, costume and makeup. During filming, we were all there, in the rain, freezing to death, and I was looking at Uber and thinking, “Yeah, he’s really in this with us,†David Ayer said in an interview with the magazine on June 8.
In this interview, the director also praises Brad Pitt, “a beast” with “raw, credible and deep” acting. The actor performed most of his stunts in gigantic spaces, very often dangerous, without ever complaining. “It exhausted him physically,” underlines David Ayer.
