In the context of the Ciné voyageur programming, two highlights are offered around the theme of families in exile, to outline an alternative history of Iran. On Monday, May 4, at 6 p.m., the film “Chronicles of Tehran”, directed in 2023 by Ali Asgari and Alireza Khatami, will be screened. It depicts the stories of nine women and men who struggle to have their rights recognized in their country.

At 8 p.m., a second showing will feature the animated film “Taboo Tehran” by Ali Zandeh, which follows the daily life of a young mother navigating an environment marked by social contradictions and religious prohibitions. On Saturday, May 9, at 5 p.m., a debate-meeting will be organized with Ahamd Asgari, a political refugee and union activist, along with a message from Hossein Dowlatabadi, a political refugee and writer.

At 8 p.m., “My Stolen Planet” directed in 2024 by Farahnaz Sharifi will be shown. Through the eyes of young Farah, born during the Iranian Islamic revolution, the film portrays a life divided between the regime and her inner freedom. With her camera, she gathers archives of families in exile to create an alternative history of Iran.

These screenings are open to all audiences. Meet at the village hall.
