What film(s) to discover for this 2026 edition
This summer, the big screen promises a real journey through the imagination. Spectators will first be able to dive into a true exploration of genre cinema with particularly anticipated titles such as Disclosure Day, the new feature film by Steven Spielberg which offers a science fiction that is both dizzying and mysterious, heir to the great stories of encounter and wonder. cosmic. On the other side of the hemisphere, Backrooms plunges spectators into a labyrinthine and anxiety-inducing nightmare, where contemporary horror plays with the codes of psychological thriller and the supernatural.
Then it’s time for entertainment, a real playground for all ages, with proposals in very varied tones. The irreverent and crazy humor of Gru’s endearing henchmen makes its big return in Minions and Monsters, alongside the family and intergenerational adventure of Toy Story 5, while Jim Queen offers a more satirical and singular approach, mixing comedy and a daring look at the gender identities and representations.
Finally, French cinema is not to be outdone with the comedy Become Great, which follows a teacher played by Manu Payet, ready to do anything to save a German class… even if it means organizing a school trip resembling total chaos, between misunderstandings, unexpected events and absurd situations! Alongside it, Le Vertige, the latest film by the astonishing Quentin Dupieux, offers a more unclassifiable approach, between absurdity, fantasy and reflection on our relationship to the world.
So many looks, styles and emotions which illustrate the vitality of the 7th art. Between popular entertainment, inventive animation, stories of anticipation, thrills and more daring proposals, this 41st edition of the Festival of Cinema reminds that cinema remains a wonderful space for escape, sharing and discovery.
And as a passion for cinema often goes hand in hand with a taste for games, AlloCiné, historic partner of the event, invites you to test your knowledge through a major competition on the official website of La Fête du Cinéma.
