MANHATTAN, Kan. – Dan Moser has been appointed as the permanent Eldon Gideon Dean of Kansas State University’s College of Agriculture after serving as interim dean. Moser’s goal is to enhance the college’s reputation as a national leader in agricultural education and research.
Jesse Perez Mendez, provost and executive vice president, expressed confidence in Moser’s ability to lead the next-generation land-grant university. Moser, an alumnus of the college, views this position as an opportunity to make a significant impact on Kansas and beyond.
Moser emphasized the importance of agriculture in the Kansas economy and K-State’s role in workforce development and research. As the chief academic officer, Moser will provide leadership and strategic vision to advance teaching, research, and engagement in agriculture.
K-State’s College of Agriculture has recently been recognized as a top-five college for agricultural science in the U.S., highlighting the institution’s commitment to excellence. Moser sees K-State as a place where both faculty and students can excel in the field of agriculture.
Under Moser’s leadership, K-State is investing in the Agriculture Innovation Initiative to address global challenges in food security, sustainability, and technological advancement. The initiative includes new facilities like the Western Star Global Grain and Food Center, set to be completed in 2026.
