Alongside its nature protection activities, the FNE Occitanie-Méditerranée (or FNE Oc-Med) has participated in recent years in numerous cultural events as a partner or organizer. “In 2026, the association wishes deepen this link between natural and cultural heritage by organizing your own event, L’Eiriçon in celebrationfrom the name of its totem animal, the hedgehog », explains Simon Popy, the regional president of the environmentalist association.
Discover the rich biodiversity of the scrublands
“The objective is to organize a day open to everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, allowing the meeting of Occitan culture and natural heritage by highlighting in particular the very rich biodiversity of the high scrublands of Montpellierand yet often underestimated,” he specifies.
Links between culture and defense of nature
For the FNE Oc-Med, there are numerous links between the defense of local languages, artistic creation and the environmental defense. “Our programming thus wishes to reflect the diversity of these links and existing creations ranging from naturalist walks to modern Occitan music, including storytelling, dance, and traditional music.”
9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Waste collection
The Viols-en-Laval town hall is taking advantage of this festival to organize its big summer waste collection. The meeting is set for 9 a.m. in front of the town hall, remember to bring gloves, the town hall will provide the bags.”
Breakfast offered from 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. Pick-up is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. but drop-off at 10 a.m. is possible for those who want to join the 10 a.m. naturalist walk.
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Bilingual French and Occitan naturalist walk
The day will begin with a anime ballad by Patrick Boudarel, bilingual Occitan naturalist, to discover the natural heritage of Viols-en-Laval. Open to all, this walk will allow you to discover flora and faunae extremely rich Mediterranean scrubland in both French and Occitan thanks to the presence of Occitan-speaking naturalists.
12h : Musique latine par Duo Quitiplà
Two Quitiplàthese are two harmonized voices (Julien Fourcade and Audrey Leclair), tinged with burlesque poetry and amorous madness. Accompanied sometimes by the guitar, sometimes by the cuatro, a small 4-string guitar, and punctuated by Venezuelan maracas or guïro, joropos, Cuban sounds, Peruvian waltzes, merengue… will cross your eardrums and your hearts, without ever hitting them.

The association La Bougeotte will be there to offer us 100% vegetarian meals made with local and organic products (as much as possible).

Aucéls, which means birds in Occitan, is the result of the meeting between Solène Rasera, storyteller, Cécilia Simonet, musician and Bérenger Rémy, ornithologist. This moment ornitho-artistic is a weaving of three voices, three words, tales, songs, knowledge and naturalist knowledge. “Aucèls wishes to question the place of humans in the slaughter suffered by the living with the desire to reconnect the once privileged bond between humans and birds.”
3:30 pm to 4:30 pm: Show « Hors sol » by the Cie dakipaya danza
Hors Sol is a immersion in the life of the soil and a reflection in body and in words on our living environment and on the relationship, sensitivity, and the way in which we cohabit with what is under our feet. This creation also questions the disappearance of our organic soilsof our roots, and of our increasingly important evolution on artificial, inert and impervious soils.
5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Discussion around art as a tool for activism
Presentation of the comic strip “A victory on concrete – Story of a local struggle against a commercial giant” in collaboration with the bookseller “La Bestiole”, followed by a round table on art as a tool for activism. This comic strip traces the history of the citizen struggle led in Montpellier to avoid the establishment of a Decathlon in a natural and agricultural area.
18h à 19h : Apéro Cantèra
Anne, Laure and Cécilia offer you a moment of vocal, collective and conviviality. polyphonic. Join them to share Occitan songs for a few songs.
19h à 21h : Aïoli sound system
Major popular Aïoli competition (remember to register), in collaboration with the La Bestiole bookstore and hosted by a selection of the most eminent Occitan MCs and DJs of the moment. A culinary Reggae hip hop evening… With Yellow, Inti and Drac de Mauresca, Pitch Up, and many other guests.
From 11:30 a.m., workshops and activities will also be offered in the festival village:
-naturalist drawing workshop for children with Pauline Comis, illustrator;
-Sketch and naturalist drawing workshop for the general public with Justin Piveteau, designer and illustrator;
-Exhibition of bronzes and engravings and some other naturalistic things by Michel Jay, naturalist and artist;
-Screen printing workshop with the La Bestiole bookstore (bring one or more items of clothing to be screen printed!);
-Atelier Yoga d’Oc with the association “Erau Dub Ballet† ;
-Wooden outdoor games offered by the Mytho-logic games bar.
