Building on the success of the High Tide cultural event in 2025, the municipality of Scaër is renewing the event this summer. This time, the edition, which will take place from June 1 to August 29, 2026, is called Low tide and will offer, throughout the summer, numerous free activities around the theme of the sea. “The program aims to be intergenerational, accessible and participatory. It combines readings, creative workshops, shows, meetings, games and cultural discoveries. The activities are open to all audiences, with several activities offered from 6 years old, including adults,” explains Isabelle Tanguy, deputy mayor.
The launch party will take place on June 3 at 6:30 p.m. with a crazy show from the company already known for its work with MJC Le Grand Tout. The artist Erwan David will play, in particular, the character of Jean-Daniel Katkart. The show is recommended for ages 16 and up and places, limited to around fifty, will be accessible without registration.
Meetings not to be missed
Among the highlights of the program: on June 12, a special low tide meal will be offered at the municipal restaurant for schoolchildren, in partnership with several municipal services; June 25: meeting with skipper and racing sailboat preparer Ty Manouk, organized with the schools; June 27: session of Tales of the sea and the sun for toddlers at the media library; July 1: postcard creation workshop at Micro-Folie; July 29: afternoon of giant outdoor games, with entertainment; August 5: micro macramé and shell bracelet workshop (media library); August 6: visit to the Maison du Littoral and ornithological walk to the Trévignon ponds with Bretagne Vivante.
“The program also highlights local artists and speakers. Particular attention was paid to the transmission of know-how: each invited professional is encouraged to present behind the scenes of their profession in order to bring a real cultural dimension to the activities,” concludes Isabelle Tanguy.
