This summer, the ski jumps of the Jura massif will host the third stage of the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix, from August 21 to 23, 2026. On the program: an international level competition and festive activities.
The Tremplins de Chaux-Neuve have been included in the summer Nordic combined calendar, a competition called the Summer Grand Prix, since August 2024. This edition hosts a world-class championship, which brings together up to 16 different nations, including France, Finland, Poland, etc. but also cultural events. “The goal is to break the codes, by mixing sport and culture, with a little punk, music, street theater and a circus show“, says Aurélien Bouveret, responsible for the festive and cultural organization of the event.
Franche-Comté at the heart of the event
To celebrate the 30e edition of the world championship of the Tremplins de Chaux-Neuve in winter and summer, an evening will be organized on Saturday evening under a marquee. This structure will be named “Fabrice Guy l’Opéra Rock“, to honor the former Franche-Comté athlete, the first French Olympic champion in Nordic combined in 1992.
“The Nordic combination is in the DNA of the Franche-Comtois. 90% of the French Nordic combined A team is from Franche-Comté“, mentions Stéphane Invernizzi, president of the Association of the Nordic Site International (ASNI) of Chaux-Neuve. Marie-Guite Dufay, honorary president of the ASNI of Chaux-Neuve confirms this opinion: “The Nordic combination, what I saw, is the soul of the territory [de Franche-Comté]“.
“It’s a chance to be able to run at home, in front of loved ones, with a crazy crowd and a very special atmosphere… shares Romane Baud, skier of the 2025-2026 French Nordic combined team, like other national and international athletes in the discipline. German skier Johannes Rydzek said: “I came here for the atmosphere, it’s amazing“. – quote translated from English to French.
The events contested from August 21 to 23
A classic individual stage where each athlete competes by covering the greatest distance, performing stylistic figures and finishing the cross-country ski race which marks the end of the event.
The Tremplins de Chaux-Neuve will also offer a mixed team stage, the only one in the summer Nordic combined championship. Diversity in Nordic sport identified as a priority by the president of ASNI: “We are absolutely committed to this, to integrating girls into this Olympic sphere and into the future of Nordic sport.“. A priority that comes after the absence of the women’s Nordic combined events during the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
