In Yemen, the Houthi rebels claimed a second attack on Israel, marking their entry into the Middle East conflict with Iran on Saturday. The rebels launched cruise missiles and drones towards vital and military targets in Israel, escalating tensions in the region. The Houthi group had previously targeted Israel in late February following American-Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

As global maritime traffic is already disrupted by Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz, the involvement of the Houthis in the war could worsen the situation. The group had previously attacked commercial ships in the Red Sea between 2023 and 2025 during the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Iran continued its retaliatory strikes, with reports of explosions in Jerusalem and attacks on a port in Oman. The Iranian military also reportedly targeted Ukrainian anti-drone systems in the UAE, although Ukraine denied these claims.

In response, Israel attacked an industrial complex in Tehran producing weapons for the Iranian navy. The airstrikes led to significant damage, with more explosions reported in the eastern part of the capital city.

Efforts for peace talks involving Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia are underway, aiming to end the escalating conflict. Speculations arose about the deployment of American troops in Iran, especially with the arrival of the USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship, in the Middle East as announced by the US military.

After a month of war, civilians on both sides continue to suffer. In Israel, eleven people were injured by an Iranian missile, while reports from Iran indicated at least 12 deaths from American-Israeli airstrikes. The toll on civilians is evident with children’s portraits displayed in Tehran, damaged residential buildings, and casualties in Lebanon as well.

The situation in Lebanon worsened since Hezbollah’s rocket attacks on Israel, resulting in casualties and displaced populations. Journalists in Lebanon were also targeted in the conflict, highlighting the severity and human cost of the ongoing war.
