It was the event in New York. This Monday, May 4, the Met Gala brought together the biggest celebrities on its red carpet to benefit the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is celebrating the spring exhibition “Costume Art“. For this new edition, guests had to respect the dress code that was “Fashion Is Art“. A theme that the stars each interpreted in their own way on the red carpet during the evening organized by Anna Wintour.
The event was therefore not to be missed for people from all over the world and from the worlds of fashion, music, cinema, and even sport. This year again, the stars competed in imagination and did everything to get noticed with the most sophisticated but also the craziest outfits. Some personalities were even difficult to recognize.
Heidi Klum and Bad Bunny unrecognizable on the Met Gala red carpet
If there is one star who respected the theme it is Heidi Klum. Used to amaze photographers with the craziest costumes during Halloween, the model left the media speechless by arriving as a statue. A celebration of fashion and art as the dress code demanded with an impressive look making homage to Raffaelle Monti’s sculpture, the Veiled Vestal Virgin. Tom Kaulitz’s companion, however, had competition including Bad Bunny, who arrived aged with gray hair.
A metamorphosis for the rapper who walked the Met Gala red carpet, just like Sam Smith and his very extravagant costume with his feather on his head, Katy Perry and her strange metal mask on her face or even Madonna, who wore a headdress representing a ship. The evening was also marked by the presence of Lady Gaga, Nicole Kidman and her daughter Sunday Rose, Kim Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Hugh Jackman and his partner Sutton Foster, and even Zoe Kravitz. As usual, Rihanna arrived at the end of the red carpet with A$ap Rocky, while Blue Ivy made her notable debut with her parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
Met Gala 2026: the French in the spotlight
This edition of the Met Gala was also marked by the presence of French stars who shone on the red carpet. Léna Situations, absent from the previous edition, surprised with her outfit from designer Burc Akyolcomposed of a white draped skirt and a bustier in the shape of hands. Jacquemus, for his part, was moved when he arrived on the red carpet in the company of his grandmother. For his part, the singer Yseult had the honor of participating in her very first Met Gala with a sublime dress by Harris Reed, as revealed Vogue. French glamor was also magnificently represented by Charlotte Gainsbourg, dressed in Saint Laurent for the occasion. Frenchies have nothing to be ashamed of!
