From 7 p.m., the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival will be broadcast live. The opening film, The Electric Venuswill then be previewed. Directed by Pierre Salvadori, the feature film stars Pio Marmaï, Vimala Pons, Anaïs Demoustier, and Gilles Lellouche, in a comedy taking place in Paris in 1982.
Antoine Balestro is a young, fashionable painter who has been unable to work since the death of his wife, driving Armand, his gallery owner, into despair. One drunken evening, Antoine tries to contact his wife through a clairvoyant. Without knowing it, he is actually speaking with Suzanne, a modest fairground worker who slipped into the trailer to steal food. Their relationship will evolve when Suzanne slowly falls in love with the man she is manipulating…
