The twelfth edition of the International Music Festival in Occitanie (FIMO), organized by the Musiques entre Pierres association, will take place from July 11 to 19, 2026.

The first of three concerts will take place on Saturday July 11 at 9 p.m. in the new Angonia Hall, in partnership with the Festival International de Musique en Occitanie (FIMO), the Festival Déodat de Séverac and the Town Hall of Martres-Tolosane. A unique evening, entitled: “Songs of the Night”: a dream journey to the heart of the starry night, through beautiful French melodies, the piano to “Clair de Lune” by Debussy and Argentinian tangos, to end with the French creation of a cycle of 8 melodies for mezzo-soprano, violin, cello and piano, “Songs of the Night”, which I offer to you, as pianist and composer, as well as co-founder and artistic director of FIMO.

For the second concert, on Saturday July 18 at 9 p.m., within the “Nuits de Palaminy”, which will take place in the main courtyard of the Château de Palaminy, known for its history and for its exceptional acoustics, I have the pleasure of offering you a program entirely dedicated to the piano works of Frédéric Chopin, starting with the first Ballade in G minor, Chopin’s favorite work, 3 mazurkas, traditional dances from the plains of the Mazovia region, the sublime “Barcarolle”, and to finish in the second part, the monumental Sonata in B minor. An evening not to be missed!

For the closing concert of this twelfth season, on Sunday July 19 at 6 p.m., the tenor, Xavier de Lignerolles and the accordionist, Pascal Contet, offer us a previously unpublished transcription of the “Winter Journey” (Winterreise), composed in 1827 by Franz Schubert on poems by Wilhelm Müller. This cycle, the incarnation of romanticism in music, is undoubtedly Schubert’s most beautiful collection of lieder, surpassing, in its density and dramatism, anything he produced in the genre. In this cycle, one of the largest and most poignant in Romanticism, Schubert evokes the wandering of a traveler who flees the city, crosses a snowy landscape, encounters a hurdy-gurdy player, a weather vane, a crow, stops at an inn, remembers his loves, waits for a letter, evokes a lost lime tree…

« Winterreise » Le Voyage d’Hiver

Composed in 1827 by Franz Schubert on poems by Wilhelm Müller, The Winter Journey is “the incarnation of romanticism in music, the absolute expression of “Sehnsucht”, existential nostalgia. Undoubtedly Schubert’s most beautiful collection of lieder, it exceeds, in its density and dramatism, anything he produced in the genre.

We love classical music, creations and contemporary music, encouraged by SACEM and the public.
