The attack carried out on February 28 against Iran by Israel and the United States, in defiance of international law, caused the conflagration of the region and a global crisis of unprecedented proportions. At the same time, and despite a so-called ceasefire, Israel continues to bomb Lebanon, to displace its population, to sow death and destruction in an increasingly large part of this country. The “Greater Israel” project, annexing part of the neighboring countries, is at work on the ground, and openly claimed by part of the Israeli political class.
The National Collective for a Just and Lasting Peace between Palestinians and Israelis condemns these wars launched in disregard of international law. We denounce the perpetual war waged by Israel and the United States against the countries of the region. The ongoing conflagration of the entire Middle East is leading us to global chaos. We stand in solidarity with all the people who are suffering this aggression: the Palestinian people, the Lebanese people, and the Iranian people who must fight both for their freedom and against the aggression of Israel and the United States.
Let us confront the root of these endless wars : what is happening in Gaza, in the West Bank, in Jerusalem and in Israel itself is the plan to annihilate a people to seize their land and all its resources. Israel’s refusal of any prospect of peace, of any effective recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people in their own land, is the source of the conflicts into which Israel and the United States are plunging the Middle East. Let’s keep our eyes on Palestine!
Gazathe displaced population, victim of massacres and the destruction of all their means of existence, is confined in an increasingly reduced space, while Israel systematically destroys everything that remains in the 60% of the territory it occupies. The large international humanitarian NGOs have had to put an end to their activities, journalists are still prohibited from entering… Bombings continue to target journalists, police officers… Truck entries are very limited, the population is exhausted, malnourished, in need of medicine…
In the West Bankcolonization accelerates, land is confiscated, Palestinian communities attacked and displaced. The violence of the settlers, protected by the occupying army, is unleashed against the Palestinians. New laws are passed, or in preparation, to further increase Israeli influence over the entire occupied Palestinian territory. ÀJerusalem-Estevictions and demolitions are increasing, entire neighborhoods are threatened with eviction.
An Israel memePalestinians face permanent threats, they are targeted by discriminatory laws which make them second-class citizens. They are not spared by the apartheid system which targets the entire Palestinian population; the recent law on the death penalty, which targets Palestinians only, is a blatant example of this apartheid regime.
La population des camps de réfugiés of Lebanon is the victim of forced displacement orders, and often direct attacks, from the Israeli army.
The tortures suffered by the activists of the Flotillas have shocked the whole world: they are only a reflection of the continued and even more abject torture imposed by Israel on the more than 9,000 Palestinian political prisoners. Around a hundred of them have died since October 7 from this torture, as well as lack of care and food.
The National Collective for a Just and Lasting Peace between Palestinians and Israelis (CNPJDPI) denounces this genocidal war waged by the Israeli state against the Palestinian people. It is decades of total impunity by the State of Israel, while it continually violates international law, that has led us to this situation.
We denounce the inaction of the French government in the face of this intolerable situation, and the lack of sanction or credible measure targeting the State of Israel and the policy it pursues. We denounce the multiple attacks on freedoms which target organizations and activists committed to the rights of the Palestinian people.
We demand:
– An immediate end to Israeli aggression: genocide in Gaza, ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and Jerusalem, bombings and massive displacements in Lebanon
– The immediate end of occupation, colonization and apartheid policies;
– The protection of UNRWA;
– Respect for the right of return of Palestinian refugees;
– Stopping the arms trade with Israel;
– Sanctions against Israel, including the immediate suspension of the association agreement between the European Union and Israel;
– The application of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against Israeli leaders.
We are calling for massive mobilization throughout France to make these demands heard.
