Marseille: SCO Sainte-Marguerite Football celebrates its 90th anniversary with an international “Walking Foot” tournament

Every day, Maritima Radio highlights local associations in its “It’s my club” section. Today, we welcome Éric Pelé, president of the football section of SCO Sainte-Marguerite. To celebrate the 90th anniversary of this historic Marseille club, a unique walking football event is taking place at the Ganay stadium on June 27 and 28.

Walking Football: the new passion of seniors in Marseille

To mark this symbolic anniversary, the football section (which has just under 200 members) is organizing the first major international football tournament.Walking Foot (football while walking) at the Ganay stadium.

The event, scheduled for the last weekend in June, takes on an international dimension. Teams from all over Europe and the biggest French clubs will travel to the Ganay stadium:

  • Le club de Séville (Espagne).

  • Marseille Olympic.

  • Delegations from Toulouse, Nice and of course the Marseille clubs.

The tournament is open to women aged 40 and over and men aged 45-50. Two categories will be represented: a section« Élite » very toned and sporty, and a section“Leisure” axée sur le sport-santé.

 

A club proud of its family values

Despite its size, SCO Sainte-Marguerite boasts a spirit of proximity and support. The football section has chosen to concentrate on the little ones, up to the categoryU12. “We are very attached to family values ​​and support. The club trains mainly atStade Saint-Tronc-Régny (Vallon de Toulouse), with slots on Tuesday evening for the youngest and Thursday evening for the seniors.
