He would have lost his life on the M2 motorway, near the town of Vushtrri, located less than five kilometers from his birth town, Samadrexhè.

The one who preferably played as a right winger had mainly played in Croatia and Kosovo, before completing his first season in an Albanian club: AF Elbasani.
With his previous club, Kosovars KF Malisheva, he notably participated in the first qualifying round of the Europa Conference League. They then lost 9-0 (round trip) against the Icelandic vice-champions of Vikingur Reykjavik.
An “immense and irreplaceable loss”
In a press release published on the website of the Football Federation of Kosovo, the institution deplores the loss of a young talent, describing this death as “an immense and irreplaceable loss”.

The text also presents a young man “looking towards the future” and endowed with great sporting qualities and off the field: “Fatjoni was much more than a talented footballer. He was an educated and passionate boy, driven by big dreams, who, through his work, his personality and his love of football, has earned the respect of all those who had the chance to know him and work with him.”

On social networks, Internet users also express their solidarity with the young player’s loved ones: “It’s horrible! My condolences to the family”, “So young… Rest in peace”, “At only 22 years old, may he rest in peace”. Other Kosovar clubs expressed their condolences and support to those close to Fatjon Bunjaku on social networks.
