Laurent Gauze, already president of the Pyrénées-Orientales Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has just been appointed head of the board of directors of Perpignan Saint-Charles Conteneur Terminal.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Pyrénées-Orientales, Laurent Gauze has just been appointed president of the board of directors of Perpignan Saint-Charles Conteneur Terminal, summarized under the somewhat barbaric acronym PSCCT.

Perpignan Saint-Charles Container Terminal is at the heart of trade between France and Europe, occupying a central place in multimodal transport of goods. “The terminal constitutes an essential link in the logistics chain of the Great South and the Mediterranean arc, contributing to the fluidity of commercial exchanges while supporting the evolution towards more sustainable transport solutions”, specifies the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “This appointment comes in a context where the issues linked to the competitiveness of supply chains, the ecological transition of transport and the strengthening of logistics infrastructures are more strategic than ever”, underlines the consular chamber again.

Laurent Gauze, who is also the owner of several hotels, has worked for several years on the economic development of the region. It was he who, for example, convinced Xavier Niel’s School 42 to set up one of its campuses in Perpignan. “I thank the administrators for their trust”, assure Laurent Gauze. “PSCCT is a strategic tool for our territory and for all the economic players who participate in the dynamism of the logistics sector. This responsibility is part of a desire to continue the development of the terminal while responding to the challenges of competitiveness and transition which are imposed on our sector”.
