Five artists out of the nine initially planned have already canceled their participation in the festivities planned between June 25 and July 10, for the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.
Faced with the defections of artists initially expected for the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, Donald Trump declared on Saturday that he was considering canceling the concerts to give a speech in Washington himself, going so far as to compare himself to Elvis Presley “sans guitar”.
“I’m thinking of bringing in the biggest attraction in the world, the one who draws far bigger crowds than Elvis at his peak, and that without a guitar, the one who loves our country more than anyone, the one who some consider to be the greatest president in history (THE BEST OF ALL TIME), DONALD J. TRUMP, to replace these ‘low artists’ well-paid floor”declared the American president in a message published on his Truth Social platform.

In this message, Donald Trump claims to have asked his teams to examine “faisability” of a baptized gathering «AMERICA IS BACK Rally», «Wednesday, Washington, même heure, même lieu» hi “only great patriots are invited”. The Republican did not specify which artistic event he was referring to nor which artists would be concerned.
Only four artists left out of nine announced
His message, however, comes as the White House’s plan to organize a major musical celebration for the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States suffered a serious setback on Friday, after the withdrawal of five artists, citing political tensions. There are now only four artists left among the nine initially announced Wednesday by the committee in charge of the celebrations planned between June 25 and July 10 on the National Mall esplanade in Washington.
“Unfortunately, what was presented to us as a celebration of our country evolved into something much more divisive than what I had agreed to participate in.”declared Thursday Bret Michaels, singer of the group Poison, who was to perform there. Donald Trump clearly sought to leave his mark on this summer anniversary – notably by scheduling a mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament on the lawns of the White House on June 14, his 80th birthday.
In a country which continues to produce some of the biggest international stars, this lineup of artists who had their moment of glory in the last century, such as the rapper Vanilla Ice, the group C+C Music Factory or the ex-duo Milli Vanilli (one of the two members died in 1998), had aroused a mountain of sarcasm on social networks.
