“We realized that with the discomfort that Laurence had experienced at work, having become multiple-handicapped, it was the life of the whole family that was turned upside down: the formalities, the care, the equipment, the professional, lists Isabelle Elisabelar, president of Jo Aintzina. We wanted to help them but we did not have time because she died on December 4, 2024. Nearly 60% of fatal accidents at work are due to illness. Jo Aintzina supports people affected by the disability they suffer: accidents in life, work, disabling illness. “It requires a lot of support because it happens suddenly,” she exclaims.

Faced with these needs, the association provides human, material and financial support in order to compensate for the lack of existing resources and to best support the people concerned and their loved ones.

A solidarity festival

This June 13, at the indoor market, from 7 pm, the Ezpeletako Musika Festibala will bring together the fanfares drums Ezpeletarrak and Larre-soro, the Basque dance group Ezpela Taldea and the choirs Ezpeletan Kantuz and Gotuza. « There will be 110 participants, coming in a gracious title, says Isabelle Elisabelar. Currently, 190 places have been purchased on the website helloasso.com (entrance is 10 euros, NDLR). There will also be a talo stand and buvette Â,” she adds.

The profits from this festival will be donated to the La Chimère association in Bayonne, the Basco-Béarnaise Hospitality, the Living and Becoming Associative Institute located in Tarnos and Mathieu Larcabal, in Itxassou.
