“Very good work from the Orleans research section,†director of investigation into this matter, with, “in support, the Rouen research section†salutes the National Gendarmerie by communicating on a very large demolition of drug trafficking between Dreux (Eure-et-Loir) and Evreux (Your).
With, as a result, a very large seizure of cannabis resin of some 405 kilos ! Estimated market value of 1.3 million euros and value of the seizures of criminal assets, more than one million euros.
An international drug trafficking network
The gendarmes of the Research Section (SR) of Orleans (Loiret) and those of the Research Section of Rouen (Seine-Maritime) are behind the dismantling of a réseau international trafficking of narcotic products on areas of Dreux and Evreux : 405 kg of cannabis resin seized.
This legal operation was carried out on June 4, 2026 by the soldiers of the two SRs in coordination and it allowed the arrest of eight people suspected of organizing the importation and distribution of cannabis resin in the Dreux and Evreux sectors.
Convoys organized from Spain and laundered in a carpentry
This network carried out convoys from Spain and ensured the distribution of narcotic products as well as the laundering of profits from trafficking, in particular through the acquisition of real estate and through a carpentry company.
At the beginning of 2026, the investigators of the SR of Orleans and Rouen were in fact part of intelligence reporting the existence of international drug trafficking organized between Spain and France.
A national investigation unit set up
Informed, the public prosecutor at the judicial court of Évreux then authorized “the opening of a preliminary investigation and requested the SR of Orleans and Rouen as well as the Interministerial Research Group of Rouen (GIR) to continue the investigations” specifies the Gendarmerie.
In April 2026, in view of l’importance du trafic révéléa judicial investigation was opened with an investigating magistrate from Évreux.
Parallèlement a National Investigation Unit (CNE) bringing together the gendarmes from the two research sections, the GIR and the departmental gendarmerie groups of Eure and Eure-et-Loir was created.
The meticulous investigations carried out by the investigators made it possible to identify the main culprits and to understand the mode of operation of the network.
A large interception device launched at the beginning of June
At the beginning of June, the preparation of a supply convoy since Spain has been detected. A legal operation was then launched.
On June 4, the convoy crossed the French border and went back towards the center of France. Subject to increased surveillance, the convoy was intercepted, smoothly, in the Gironde department. 400 kg of cannabis resin were discovered in one of the vehicles.
The two conveyors were immediately placed in police custody. Simultaneously, six other people involved to different degrees in this trafficking were arrested with the support of intervention units in the departments of Eure and Eure-et-Loir.
An estimated market value of more than 1.3 million euros
These are close to 120 gendarmes et unités spécialisées who were mobilized for this operation. All of the searches allowed the seizure, in addition to the 405 kg of cannabis resin in the vehicle, of 400 grams of cocainei.e. an overall market value of narcotic products estimated at 1.300.000 euros.
These searches also led to the discovery and seizure of a handgunof eight long guns as well asa weapon of war.Â
Of the seizures for criminal assets were also carried out on real estate, bank accounts, furniture, vehicles, luxury leather goods and household appliances, for a total value estimated approximately of one million euros.
At the end of their custody, the June 8, 2026six defendants were brought before the ordering magistrate and were indicted then placed in provisional detention. Two other defendants will be summoned at the end of June 2026 before the same magistrate.
