Despite the end of official competitions, the AS Monaco U17s had not quite finished their season. These last few days, Manu Dos Santos’ men played in the Saint-André-Lez-Lille U17 International Tournament, in the north of France. And the Red and White did more than just participate since they imposed themselves.

In group A, ASM first beat PSV Eindhoven (1-0) thanks to a production by Joel Olavio Afonso Mendes, before losing by the same score against the Guinean club Hafia FC. Qualified despite everything in the quarter-finals, the Monegasques disposed of Red Bull Bragantino (1-1, 8-7 at t.a.b.), the former club of Thiago Scuro, then Standard de Liège in the next round (1-0), with direction by Andreas Dambo.

In final, the young Asemist shoots were opposed to the Danish club Odense. Despite Afonso Mendes opening the score at the start of the match, it was on penalties that the fate of this final was decided, and the coin once again fell on the right side for the Red and White (1-1, 5-4 at t.a&b.), who will this time be able to go on vacation with a light mind. In 28 editions, This is the first time that ASM has won this tournament.
