It’s with a immense regret that we are forced to cancel the very first edition of the International Jumping Competition from Dole. We believed it. We were ready. We dared,” the organization wrote this Tuesday, May 19 on its social networks. A real bolt from the blue for all those involved and passionate d’equitation who were waiting for this first horse racing meeting in the largest town in the Jura. It’s cruel.

« The adventure had started in the most beautiful way with more than 250 requests for participation in the two-star competition and the young horse classes, without even counting the entries in the one-star competition and amateurs. Unfortunately, not all of these requests have been transformed into definitive commitments. With barely 200 horses engagedforeigners included, we remain far from the 250 horses necessary to ensure the financial balance of such an event. » It is therefore the number of participants which was lacking in the good performance of the event.

 We will be back…

This decision is extremely difficult to make, but the economic stakes of an international competition are considerableand we cannot jeopardize the future of our structure and our events… Free and accessible to the general public, this meeting was a real opportunity to discover or rediscover a confidential discipline, but extremely spectacular where the special bond that unites horses and elite riders could have been observed through the obstacle course at the Dole equestrian center, on the edge of the Chaux forest. After the Trial World Cup stage, it was the next big sporting event in the Cité Pasteur.

“Despite everything, we would like to sincerely thank all the riders who got involved, as well as the partners, exhibitors, volunteers and enthusiasts who believed in this beautiful project that we had been preparing for many months. We thought that the enthusiasm around this first edition would be even more unifying, especially among riders in our region. But one thing is certain: we will not give up. We will come back. And even without aid, we will continue to fight for promote our sport and carry out beautiful equestrian projects in our beautiful region. All our national competitions will be well maintained, and you will be able to discover our new facilities very soon,” concludes the organization, addressing its audience directly.
