Rezaei: America forced to accept Iranian conditions in negotiations

Téhéran – Saba :

Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Iranian Parliament’s Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, said Monday that if America wants to act wisely, it has no choice but to accept Iran’s terms in the negotiations. This statement follows international pressure on the United States regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement released today by the Iranian news agency IRNA, Mr. Rezaei, referring to the evolution of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, indicated that the United States is under pressure from countries in the region and oil importing countries, which hold Washington responsible for the tensions hindering navigation and oil exports through this strategic sea route.

He added that “these countries demand that the United States create the necessary conditions to ensure the continuity of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz.”

Rezaei said: “The Islamic Consultative Assembly is working on drafting legislation to regulate navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which will legally bind the government and armed forces to manage the area, while establishing rights of passage.”

Rezaei stressed: “The Islamic Republic affirms an undeniable fact: the status of the Strait of Hormuz will never again be the same. HAS”

Regarding the negotiations, he said: “Some are worried about it, but the entry of the Islamic Republic of Iran into negotiations does not mean making concessions to the enemy. We paid a heavy price and we held on. HAS”

Rezaei stressed that the negotiations, if they were to take place, would aim to force the United States to accept the Islamic Republic’s terms, insisting that Washington has no choice but to submit if it wishes to act wisely.

He added: “The conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are defined in ten points, and we will not give in. HAS”

According to him, these conditions include recognition of Iran’s right to enrich uranium, payment of compensation for damages suffered and recognition of the Islamic Republic’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Rezaei said: “If the other side accepts these conditions, the way will be opened for an end to tensions and a resolution of the conflict. HAS”
