Iranian Parliament Spokesperson: America Forced to Accept Iranian Conditions in Negotiations
Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, stated on Monday that if America wants to act wisely, it has no choice but to accept Iran’s conditions in negotiations. This statement comes in the midst of international pressure on the United States regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement released today by the Iranian news agency IRNA, Mr. Rezaei mentioned the evolving situation in the Strait of Hormuz, pointing out that the United States is facing pressure from the regional countries and oil importing nations. These countries hold Washington responsible for the tensions hindering navigation and oil exports through this strategic maritime route.
He added, “These countries demand that the United States create the necessary conditions to ensure the continuity of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz.”
Rezaei declared, “The Islamic Consultative Assembly is working on legislation to regulate navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which will legally require the government and armed forces to manage the area and establish passage rights.”
Rezaei emphasized, “The Islamic Republic asserts an undeniable fact: the status of the Strait of Hormuz will never be the same.”
Regarding negotiations, he stated, “Some may be concerned, but Iran’s participation in negotiations does not mean making concessions to the enemy. We have paid a heavy price and we have stood firm.”
Rezaei highlighted that if negotiations were to take place, their aim would be to compel the United States to accept the conditions of the Islamic Republic, emphasizing that Washington has no choice but to comply if it wishes to act wisely.
He added, “The conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are defined in ten points, and we will not back down.”
According to him, these conditions include recognizing Iran’s right to enrich uranium, providing compensation for damages incurred, and acknowledging the control of the Islamic Republic over the Strait of Hormuz.
Rezaei stated, “If the other party accepts these conditions, the path will be opened to the end of tensions and the resolution of the conflict.”
