  • The Brave France partnership agreement aims to promote and develop joint innovative technological solutions for the benefit of the Ukrainian and French armies. It follows the signing of the letter of intent between the minister and her counterpart Mykhailo Fedorov in February 2026.

In an international context marked by growing tensions, AID and the Ukrainian government platform Brave1 are intensifying their collaboration on military innovation.

This ambitious project’s mission is to promote the development of joint innovative technological solutions, for the benefit of the Ukrainian and French armies. Through calls for projects, technological challenges and support measures, this innovative system initiates and supports projects carried out by companies and startups in the defense technology sector, both in France and in Ukraine. The main objective is to strengthen bilateral efforts through appropriate financing, targeting technologies capable of producing rapid and operational results on the ground. The evaluation of these projects will take place in Ukraine, and the best of them will be presented to the forces.

On February 7, 2026, during her meeting with Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs, affirmed her commitment to her Ukrainian counterpart to ensure that the Brave France initiative becomes quickly operational: “Combining the industrial audacity of the Ukrainians in the face of aggression and the historical French technological and industrial expertise can be put to the service of European security.» she underlined.
