While Patrick Bruel still disputes the accusations brought against him and remains presumed innocent, his professional future appears increasingly uncertain. A week later his indictment for rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and sexual harassmentthe consequences of this affair are already being felt on his career. On June 10, after 48 hours in police custody, the 67-year-old singer was placed under judicial control. Although he remains free, certain restrictions have been imposed on him, including a ban on leaving French territory without prior authorization.

This situation could quickly complicate the holding of several dates planned in the coming months. If Patrick Bruel has already canceled several summer concerts as well as its Parisian performances initially scheduled at the Cirque d’Hiver, its fall tour remains officially maintained. The kick-off must be given on October 2 at the Coliseum in Chartres. Among the dates announced is also a concert scheduled for October 6, 2026 at Forest National, in Brussels. However, its judicial control now raises a major question: will he really be able to perform in Belgium?

A mobilization against the return on stage of Patrick Bruel

For the moment, no cancellation has been announced, as our colleagues at Ciné Télé Revue. Indeed, the concert is still on the bill at the Brussels venue and the ticket office remains open, with only a few seats still available. According to one of his lawyers, however, a legal solution exists. “It is possible for the lawyers of an indicted person to request a temporary exemption to allow them to travel abroad from a given date to a given date,” she said. A request for an exemption could therefore be filed to allow the singer to travel to Belgium for the duration of his concert.

Beyond legal issues, Patrick Bruel must also face growing protests. Tuesday June 16, the date on which he was initially scheduled to launch his series of concerts at the Cirque d’Hiver, several dozen people gathered in front of the Parisian venue. According to The Parisianaround fifty demonstrators were present to show their support for the complainants and to demand the cancellation of the entire tour.

Considerable financial stakes

Among the organizers was Attac France. Its spokesperson, Youlie Yamamoto, displayed unambiguous determination and said that“It won’t be able to happen, we won’t let it happen, we won’t let it go” and that “The era of aggressors is over”. For Patrick Bruel, the equation is particularly delicate since the artist is not only the performer of this anniversary tour but also… its producer. The financial consequences of a total cancellation could therefore be significant. It now remains to be seen whether the singer will choose to maintain his commitments in the fall despite the context or whether he will gradually give up the dates still scheduled.
