The drone injured two people when it hit a residential building in Romania. According to Romanian President Nicusor Dan, it is a Geran-2, a Russian-designed aircraft. “The drone that crashed Thursday evening in Galati is a Geran-2, of Russian origin. This is the unequivocal conclusion of the technical report finalized by the Romanian state experts,” he assured in a message on X, accompanied by four images supposed to show this device.
A 14-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman were hospitalized following this first fall of a drone on a residential building outside Ukraine in the context of the Russian invasion launched in February 2022.

The Russian embassy in Bucharest accused kyiv of orchestrating a provocation and President Vladimir Putin said Friday that “no one” could determine with certainty the origin of the drone until a thorough analysis was carried out. In his message on Sunday, the Romanian head of state insisted on the fact that a complete technical expertise had been carried out and demonstrated the “sole responsibility” of Moscow.
